Chugging along...

We had our inspection & appraisal done on Earth Day and everything is a go - right now we're set to close sometime between tomorrow & the 13th (all depending on the seller & when one of the programs we're working with fund). We have a few "major" issues we need to check off our list as soon as we close as we have three+ weeks to move between our current place and the new home. We absolutely need to attempt to clean the carpet - while it's great expensive carpet, the seller has four dogs who have thrashed it & our inspector said if it was properly installed it should come clean... if not, we need to replace it (thankfully it's only 25% of our flooring). The granite & the tile floors need to be treated and resealed as she hasn't bothered doing that in the 20 months she's been in the house. There's a nest/hive in our backyard overhang that needs to be professionally removed, the stove has to be replaced (does not work at all), and the trees in the dog run need to be trimmed back from the roof.

From there it's just cosmetic (paint!) and decorating... and building. We're losing a bedroom so the extra large bonus kitchen/dining room/family room is having a bare wall space converted into a built-in for my office setup. In the mean time I've been working on a few projects here and there while we clean and pack and trying to not go crazy shopping for things. ;)

We've been trying to keep busy and entertained - I cannot imagine how we could have done this if we had more than a 30 day escrow as I'm already climbing the walls. Last weekend we took Bella down for her first trip to the San Diego Zoo since we bought passes in March. She LOVED it but I think she prefers people watching over watching animals. It was a beautiful day in San Diego and she was seriously an angel baby; slept on the drive down, slept on the drive back, was content to ride in the stroller half the time & the other half on R's shoulders.





Since she's starting to get on somewhat of a routine, I am hoping the drop dead tired look will begin to fade so I can start feeling semi-human again. On top of everything that could possibly be stressing us, one of our foster puppies came down with a super case of Parvo and lost her battle on Friday morning. This has resulted in two of our own dogs getting sick so now we're supervising, medicating, and watching what we can.... Ugh. This also means we're out of the fostering game for at least six+ months, maybe a year.
